Munsel Color System

You live in Toronto Ont. Canada, and have a friend who just went out to Vancouver BC Canada on a trip. Your friend sends you a post card telling you he just bought a new "crimson" colored Honda. Your car is "vermilion." Can you picture in your mind which car is a deeper Red?

At the left is a Munsell Color Book.  The complete book has 100 pages with ten pages for each of the ten major hues defined.  Each page contains all the possible variations of its single hue.
