The day his first born son was born, he quickly took the child into town to be baptized by the priest, thereby reneging on his agreement with the devil.

Satan was very angry and whipped up a violent storm in which the lightening set fire to all the buildings in the town except for the church. All the people congregated in the church, and were protected by God, as they were praying very hard for deliverance.  So great was the wrath of the devil that the roof of the church was blown off and the walls burst into flames.

God saved the people that day. Not one of them was harmed, and they did not give up the blacksmith's son. The entire church was destroyed, but for the floor in the sanctuary where the people stood. God killed Satan in this battle so the devil is now dead.

After Albert told me this story, I asked him what became of the child. He replied that the child was now a youth in the community. He then told me to meet with Eugene who would take me across the lake to see the proof of this story.
