Primary Color Theory
This was taught in grade 11 Physics in the 1950's, but is included here as many people now interested in color never took any kind of Physics course. Unfortunately, Art schools have borrowed physics terms to explain colors using different names for the Hues Physicists call "Cyan" and "Magenta."  To make matters even more complicated they use the names "Blue" and "Red" respectively, to describe these same two Hues.

Red, to a Physicist is the name of the Hue that covers a wide range of wavelengths at the end of the visible spectrum that has the longest wavelengths.
