his was taught in grade 11 Physics in the 1950's,
but is included here as many people now interested in color never took any kind
of Physics course. Unfortunately, Art schools have borrowed physics terms to
explain colors using different names for the Hues Physicists call "Cyan" and
"Magenta." To make matters even more complicated they use the names "Blue"
and "Red" respectively, to describe these same two Hues.
Red, to a Physicist is the name of the Hue that
covers a wide range of wavelengths at the end of the visible spectrum that has
the longest wavelengths.
