This "Negative" image of the original scene
is a much more accurate "negative" than the color negatives you get back
from the drug store, as the black and white film did not have the "Orange"
mask used on all color negative films. Thus no Orange mask got sent through
the filters to produce any color cast on the resulting image.
Another way to produce a "Negative" image
is to leave the filters alone, and use black and white negatives instead of
black and white transparencies, as shown an the right.
