Details of "Officers Mess" by Kevin R. McKerron

Click to Enlarge Here is a shot of the bar in The Officer's Mess at Fort York. This bright yellow room was illuminated by window light only. Kevin used a Chinon SLR camera with a Pentax 28-80 mm Zoom telephoto lens at F:22 for 30 seconds on Kodacolor 400 ASA film. The camera was mounted on a tripod and the exposure was initiated with a long cable release. The small f: stop insured good depth of field and necessitated a longer exposure. A flash would have given a correct exposure at the expense of the fine detail at various depths within the photograph.
