All the elements in both lens groups of the eyepiece are properly collimated and permanently fixed in their positions. Dropping an eyepiece could jarr the elements out of alignment destroying the eyepiece's internal collimation,- making it useless.
The eyepiece is inserted into a focusing tube which is mounted on the side or top of the telescope tube via a mounting tube.
Place your mouse pointer over the word SHIFT to shift the eyepiece's mount in the diagram. Likewise place your mouse pointer over the word TILT to tilt the eyepiece's mount. The eypiece can be Both SHIFTED and TILTED at the same time.
